PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Silvio Riscatelli (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Happy Brusko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Riscatelli comes to the cage accompanied by Speak Softly Love. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Silvio Riscatelli!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Happy Brusko!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Bruno Hogan and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Riscatelli shoots in but no luck this time.

Brusko takes the fight into the clinch.
Riscatelli could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Riscatelli is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Brusko pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Brusko effectively controlling the action here.
Riscatelli is trying to drag Brusko to the mat but Brusko just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Silvio Riscatelli. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Riscatelli has Brusko pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Brusko manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Brusko is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Riscatelli has managed to escape the submission attempt.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Brusko wants to control the pace but Riscatelli is squirming around nicely.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Riscatelli tries to reverse the position but Brusko maintains control.

Brusko is working for a guillotine from mount but Riscatelli frees his head quite easily.
Riscatelli is trying desperately to improve position.
Riscatelli might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Riscatelli is in a horrible position here. Brusko smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Riscatelli shoots in and drives through. Brusko sprawls well.

Brusko controls Riscatelli momentarily but Riscatelli frees himself.

Riscatelli passes Brusko's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Happy Brusko dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Riscatelli feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Brusko tries to get to full guard but Riscatelli has control of the leg.

Riscatelli looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Riscatelli slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Riscatelli tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Riscatelli has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Brusko is trying to get back to half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Brusko sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Brusko wants to improve his position but Riscatelli is controlling well.
The fighters are battling for position here. Brusko manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Brusko is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Riscatelli wants to pass the guard but Brusko is keeping the position.
Brusko is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Brusko bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Riscatelli's guard.

Riscatelli is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Brusko has his hands clasped together but Riscatelli extends an breaks Brusko's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Riscatelli.
