PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Romeo Hernanes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alan Sansing (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hernanes kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Awolnation - Sail. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Alan Sansing!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Frank Dennis and Wesley Smith.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sansing scores with a nice strike.
Sansing ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hernanes moves away.
Hernanes feints and then cracks Sansing's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Sansing down.
Hernanes attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Hernanes clobbers Sansing with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Sansing fails to land the takedown.
Sansing misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Hernanes.
Hernanes wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Sansing throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Hernanes appears to be looking for a big counter.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hernanes lands a two punch combo.
Alan Sansing seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sansing shoots in for a takedown but Hernanes shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Sansing throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Hernanes tries to counter by clinching up but Sansing breaks away and moves out of range.

Sansing changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hernanes looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Sansing fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Sansing trying to control the position but Hernanes is working away.
Hernanes bucks up and tries to throw Sansing off but instead Sansing has got his back!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sansing somehow managing to miss with a strike from the back.
Hernanes looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
Sansing has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Hernanes is taking damage to the body and head.

Sansing is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Hernanes defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Sansing lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK.
Hernanes trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.
Sansing controlling well, preventing Hernanes from escaping the position.

Hernanes is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Sansing gets his way!
Sansing is trying to stick to Hernanes's back but Hernanes is turning into Sansing. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Sansing's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Hernanes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sansing is looking for a triangle but Hernanes pushes his legs off easily.
Hernanes wants to stand but Sansing is controlling his posture from full guard.
Hernanes trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Sansing looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hernanes is one step ahead there.

Hernanes avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Sansing looking to control but Hernanes passes into half guard.
Sansing is looking to improve his position.

A looping hook to the body misses from Sansing. Hernanes does a little dance to reset his feet.
Hernanes swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Horrible takedown attempt by Sansing or perhaps it was just good defense by Hernanes, which made it look bad.
Hernanes tries to counter by clinching up but Sansing breaks away and moves out of range.
Sansing tries for a takedown but Hernanes sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Hernanes seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Sansing throws an ugly left hook that misses

Hernanes displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Sansing throws out the jab.
Hernanes is looking to counter the offense by Sansing and move into the clinch.
Sansing lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Sansing dives in for a single leg takedown but Hernanes sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Sansing swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Hernanes.
A slow jab from Sansing misses its intended target.
As Sansing looks to move away, Hernanes throws a big counter combo bu Sansing just gets out of the way.
Sansing will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Hernanes went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Hernanes fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Sansing has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Hernanes knocks Sansing to the floor with a head kick! Can he finish him!?

Sansing is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Hernanes decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Sansing is still on wobbly legs! Can Hernanes finish him?
Hernanes grits his teeth and throws a big right-left combo! Sansing takes both shots clean on the chin and is out cold! Hernanes cracks him once more on his way down, as the crowd goes wild! They enjoyed that one!
