Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rodrick Rich (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vince De Wit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Rodrick Rich!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Vince De Wit!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, James Ackerman and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

De Wit scores with a takedown into Rich's guard.
Rich has his hands on De Wit's head, controlling the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
De Wit wants to get up but he can't break Rich's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
De Wit is working Rich over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Rich really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
De Wit in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

De Wit must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
De Wit would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

De Wit postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

De Wit throws a strike but Rich rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
De Wit is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

De Wit drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

De Wit looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
De Wit sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Rich is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

De Wit tries to stand but Rich controls the position and pulls De Wit into his guard.

De Wit stands up from guard. Let's bang!

De Wit moves into the clinch.
Rich misses with an elbow over the top.

A bit of stalling here from Rich.

De Wit has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Rich clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Rich wants to control his opponent's hands but De Wit gets his hands free.
Rich wants to escape the position but for the time being he's just trying to control the pace.
Rich covering up well and avoiding damage.

De Wit throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch.
Rich turns into De Wit and is now in his guard.

Rich stands and steps away. De Wit gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
De Wit looks winded!

De Wit moves into the clinch.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
De Wit looking to slow down the pace here.
Rich lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

De Wit jumps into guard, dragging Rich to the mat.

Rich stands up and waves to De Wit to follow him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vince De Wit dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


De Wit throws a leg kick
and Rich connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

De Wit drives through and clinches with Rich against the cage.
Rich throws a knee to the head but misses.

De Wit pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Rich closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming De Wit to the mat! De Wit manages to get full guard.
Rich postures up in De Wit's guard and throws a big left but De Wit blocks it.

Rich gets to his feet - De Wit follows without any prompting.

De Wit feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
De Wit throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
De Wit has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Rich pulls De Wit in to control the position.
De Wit trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
De Wit is breathing heavily.
De Wit throwing strikes from guard but Rich blocks nicely.

Rich is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Rich pulls De Wit in close to prevent any damage.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
De Wit loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Rich enables De Wit to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Rich manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

De Wit is looking to work some ground and pound but Rich has wrist control.

Rich escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. De Wit gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
De Wit postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Rich pulls De Wit in close to his closed guard and prevents De Wit from doing any damage or advancing position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

De Wit closes the distance and pushes Rich back into the cage.

De Wit jumps guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

De Wit is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vince De Wit showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

De Wit has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Rich is trying to keep an underhook but De Wit manages to get the takedown into half guard.

De Wit thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Rich's head.

De Wit wants to take a breather but Rich is having none of it.

Rich is positioning himself well to prevent De Wit advancing to mount.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Rich is trying to control but can't.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

De Wit closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Rich just misses with a elbow thrown towards De Wit's brow.

De Wit breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

De Wit avoids a wild elbow strike from Rich.
De Wit is trying to maintain a safe position but Rich gets an underhook and turns De Wit into the cage.
De Wit tries to circle away but Rich has him pinned against the cage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
De Wit blocks an uppercut.
De Wit trying to stall but Rich improves his position.
Come on De Wit - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

De Wit's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Rich tries to keep at a distance but De Wit has taken the fight into the clinch.

De Wit has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Rich clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
De Wit takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Rich just trying to survive but De Wit is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.

De Wit is trying to stick to Rich's back but Rich is turning into De Wit. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in De Wit's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Rich.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Rich's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Rich postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
De Wit utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Rich stands and steps away. De Wit gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Rodrick Rich has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Vince De Wit is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Rich working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. De Wit doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. De Wit manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

And that's the end of the fight!
Vince De Wit comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well De Wit has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
