Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Alva Gallegos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jonas Schmidt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Schmidt shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Schmidt showed some decent athleticism there.
Schmidt perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gallegos tries to get to full guard but Schmidt has control of the leg.
Well, if Schmidt is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Schmidt wants to free his trapped foot but Gallegos is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Schmidt feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Schmidt dives in and grabs Gallegos's left leg, looking for a takedown. Gallegos pushes down on Schmidt's head and hops out.

Schmidt shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Gallegos's guard.
