PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Joe McDoogle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zach Belica (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Joe McDoogle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Zach Belica!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Yves DeLean and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McDoogle lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
McDoogle thumps Belica with a low kick.
A slapping body kick lands there for McDoogle.
Belica has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from McDoogle finds it's way round the side to connect with Belica's head.
McDoogle lands an overhand right.
Belica fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
McDoogle throws a quick counter head kick but Belica was just out of range.
Belica avoids a punch combination nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Belica scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Belica with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling McDoogle to score with a decent uppercut.
Belica looks winded!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
McDoogle scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Nice uppercut there from McDoogle.
Belica wants to clinch.
Belica has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from McDoogle.
McDoogle works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Belica gets cracked there but stands up to it.
McDoogle cracks Belica with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
McDoogle moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Good exchange - McDoogle coming out on top.
Belica moves forwards but McDoogle connects with a nice, crisp jab.


Belica is rocked!
It looks like McDoogle has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.
McDoogle fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Belica to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Belica looks to clinch but McDoogle throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Belica taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Joe McDoogle!
An out of breath Joe McDoogle thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
