Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Travis Alvarado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Donny Ruff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ruff is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Not Gonna Die. Donny Ruff will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ruff goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

It looks like Travis Alvarado has been cut.
Ruff looks to clinch

so Alvarado counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Ruff has a closed guard, preventing Alvarado from standing up.
Ruff controls Alvarado momentarily but Alvarado frees himself.

Alvarado thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ruff can do anything to dispel that myth.
Alvarado stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ruff swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Alvarado has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Ruff is proving hard to escape from.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Alvarado has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ruff can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Ruff looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Alvarado! Submission of the night perhaps?
