Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between JJ Thomas and Comanche Todd. Chooooooooon! I think Thomas might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Linkin Park - In the End. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Comanche Todd enters the cage!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Todd staying out of range there.
Todd ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Todd throws a combination that misses
and Thomas connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Todd misses with a series of wild punches.
Todd swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Thomas throwing a counter right hand but Todd manages to avoid it.
Todd scores with a decent looking hook.
Todd avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Comanche Todd seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Thomas needs to keep his hands up - Todd had a free shot at his head there.
Todd dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Todd misses with a body shot.
Todd swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Todd fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Thomas manages to avoid it.
Todd jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Thomas is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Todd throws a body shot but no joy.

Thomas changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Todd is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Thomas rather than just go for the knockout.

Thomas is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Todd has escaped the position, nice work there.
Thomas takes a little break here. Todd wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Thomas is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Todd knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Thomas tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Thomas has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Thomas tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Todd pushes Thomas away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Thomas gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Thomas is looking to take a break and control but Todd is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Who's going to make the next move?

Thomas tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Thomas thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Todd throws a series of punches but Thomas avoids them all with ease.
Todd misses with a wild body shot.
Todd lands with an uppercut that bounces Thomas off the cage and back into range.
Thomas tests Todd's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Thomas closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Todd did well to prevent Thomas getting side control.

Thomas seems to be looking for submissions.

Thomas is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Todd doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Thomas.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Thomas frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

JJ Thomas overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Thomas has his foot on Todd's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Todd works his way back into a safe position though.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Todd gets to his feet - Thomas follows without any prompting.
Thomas throws a jab but it's blocked by Todd.
Thomas misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Donk. Todd catches Thomas right on the button with a cross.
Thomas misses with a looping right.

Thomas fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Todd sprawls well initially but Thomas persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Todd manages to escape and get back to his feet!

Thomas shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Thomas was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Todd is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Todd is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Thomas thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Thomas tries to move into full mount but can't pass Todd's legs.

That was a close second round but I would say that JJ Thomas will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Thomas shoots in and drives through. Todd sprawls well.
Thomas on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Thomas throws a lazy right hand but Todd sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Todd lands with an uppercut that bounces Thomas off the cage and back into range.
Todd waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Thomas.

Todd swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Todd tries to bum rush Thomas with a series of wild strikes but Thomas uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Todd moves out of range of the strikes.

Thomas looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Todd!

Todd explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Thomas shoots in and bounces Todd off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Todd scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Todd throws a right hand that Thomas ducks under and follows up with a left that Thomas also avoids with ease.

Todd has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Thomas swings around for an armbar but Todd sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Thomas's guard.
Todd has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Thomas is proving hard to escape from.

Thomas working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Todd doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Todd manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Todd avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Todd decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Thomas keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Comanche Todd is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Nice cross by Thomas.
Comanche Todd seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Thomas gets a takedown into half guard.
Thomas is looking to take a break and control but Todd is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Todd tries to kick Thomas off but Thomas keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Thomas trying to control the action but Todd is working from the bottom.
Todd is looking for a sweep. Thomas is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Thomas is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Thomas wants to take a breather but Todd is having none of it.
Thomas trying to advance position but Todd counters by regaining guard.
Thomas trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Comanche Todd comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Todd has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
