Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Adam Morley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marty Stephensson!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Robert Twigg and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stephensson throws a push kick but Morley slaps the foot to one side.
Stephensson looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Morley fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Stephensson avoids it really well and circles away.
Stephensson connects with an inside leg kick.
Stephensson scores with a slapping inside leg kick.

Morley closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Morley loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Morley has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Morley postures up in Stephensson's guard and throws a big left but Stephensson blocks it.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Stephensson can do anything to dispel that myth.
Morley controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Morley works over Stephensson with some ground and pound from guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Morley accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Morley is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Demon's Elite Gym that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.
Stephensson seems keen to control Morley's posture.
Let's hope that Stephensson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Stephensson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Morley. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Morley is fighting to break Stephensson's control of his arms but Stephensson is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Morley misses with a takedown attempt - Stephensson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Stephensson clobbers Morley with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.


It looks like Adam Morley has been cut.
Morley stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Stephensson.
Marty Stephensson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Morley's legs have taken a beating and he's really slowing down as a result.
Morley swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Stephensson counters with a good, hard body kick but Morley shrugs it off.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Stephensson! Morley is out on his feet! Stephensson rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Morley is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Morley is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Marty Stephensson!
An out of breath Marty Stephensson thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
