The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gratsch avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Gratsch throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Rudolf's waist but Rudolf gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gratsch off to one side.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

No joy there for Rudolf, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Gratsch shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Gratsch showed some decent athleticism there.

Gratsch looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

That was a close round but I would say that Nes Gratsch will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Gratsch closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Rudolf to the mat! Rudolf manages to get full guard.

Rudolf is staying active underneath Gratsch, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gratsch is nestled in close to Rudolf, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Gratsch is landing with some decent strikes but Rudolf is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Gratsch takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Rudolf can do anything to dispel that myth.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Gratsch cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Gratsch is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Gratsch extends the arm and Rudolf is forced to tap!
