PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Travwan Reid (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Dingerballs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Reid comes to the cage accompanied by hall of fame. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Travwan Reid!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mike Dingerballs!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reid is looking to clinch.
The fight stays on the outside here - Reid looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Reid fails in his attempt to clinch.

Dingerballs clinches up with Reid and pushes him back against the cage.

Dingerballs has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Reid is trying to keep an underhook but Dingerballs manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Reid has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Dingerballs is on him like a limpet, forcing Reid back against the cage.

Reid breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Dingerballs darts in and clinches Reid up against the cage.
Dingerballs scores with a shot to the side of Reid's head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Dingerballs lands a left hand that snaps the head of Reid backwards.
A short right from Dingerballs.
Dingerballs misses with a shot to the kidneys.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Dingerballs.
Dingerballs gets through Reid's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.


Reid is rocked!
Reid pushes off an throws an elbow but Dingerballs leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Oh Reid is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Dingerballs works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Dingerballs controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Reid seems to have got his legs back now.
It looks like Dingerballs might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dingerballs trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Dingerballs sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Dingerballs is looking to work some ground and pound but Reid has wrist control.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Dingerballs is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Reid's half guard.
Dingerballs performing his best blanket impression for a moment.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Dingerballs throwing shots but Reid is blocking nicely.
Dingerballs thows a huge punch but Reid dodges it nicely.
Dingerballs slips a nice elbow through Reid's hands, connecting with Reid's forehead.

Dingerballs is working for a kimura here but Reid manages to reverse the position and he's now in Dingerballs's guard.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Reid wants to stand and escape but instead Dingerballs has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Dingerballs postures up in Reid's guard and throws a big left but Reid blocks it.
Dingerballs sitting in guard here, content to control.
Dingerballs stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Reid swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Dingerballs engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Let's hope that Dingerballs has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Dingerballs leaves Reid with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Dingerballs swats away the attempt to clinch by Reid.

Dingerballs clinches with his opponent.

Dingerballs gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Dingerballs stays in close to Reid's body and controls the position.
Dingerballs throws a big right hand that misses.
Reid knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Dingerballs on the ground.
Dingerballs works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Reid is breathing heavily.
Dingerballs takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Dingerballs looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Dingerballs with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mike Dingerballs dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Reid fails with an attempt to clinch.
Dingerballs feints the counter takedown.

Reid gets tackled into the cage by Dingerballs. Dingerballs maintains the clinch.
Reid misses with an elbow strike.
Dingerballs goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Dingerballs lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
Dingerballs managing to block the knees to the body from Reid.
Reid tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Dingerballs avoids it.
Dingerballs presses Reid against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Dingerballs lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
A right hook to the body lands for Dingerballs.

Reid is fighting off a takedown attempt but Dingerballs is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Reid to the mat. Reid regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Dingerballs has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Dingerballs is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Reid will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Dingerballs with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Dingerballs looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Dingerballs's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Dingerballs's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Reid has momentary wrist control but Dingerballs slips an elbow through the middle.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Dingerballs is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Dingerballs stands and throws Reid's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Dingerballs slows the pace down.
Dingerballs working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Dingerballs has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Dingerballs landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
Dingerballs staying calm.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dingerballs has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Reid wants to get back to his feet.
Dingerballs raining down shots from the mount!

Dingerballs wants to finish this one by submission but Reid is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Dingerballs.
Dingerballs has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Reid's face.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Dingerballs is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Reid can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Dingerballs is in full mount looking to finish with strikes. He lands a big shot, followed by another and Reid goes limp! The ref jumps in to end the fight - a big win for Dingerballs!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:26 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Mike Dingerballs!
A very excited looking Mike Dingerballs rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
Travwan Reid spoke after the fight, saying 'i can be knockedown, but I'll never be knocked out.'.
