Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ignacio Pugh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daisuke Urashima (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ignacio Pugh has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ignacio Pugh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Daisuke Urashima!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Shirou Masuda and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Urashima manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Pugh on his heels. He'll look to pass Pugh's guard now, I'm sure.

Pugh knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Urashima on the ground.
Urashima is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Urashima's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Pugh could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Urashima is looking to work some ground and pound but Pugh has wrist control.
Pugh wants to stand but Urashima is controlling the position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Let's hope that Urashima has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Urashima throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Pugh tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Urashima is in Pugh's guard.

Urashima sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Pugh's guard.

Urashima prevents Pugh from standing back up.
Urashima tries to pass the half guard into mount. Pugh knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Urashima content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Urashima passes to side control.
Pugh tries to escape but Urashima is in control.
Urashima has knee on belly and moves into mount.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Pugh is looking to improve his position but Urashima isn't that keen on the idea.

It looks like Urashima might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Pugh gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Urashima decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Urashima feints and as Pugh raises his hands in defense, Urashima changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Urashima looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Urashima unloads with some shots from mount but Pugh bucks and avoids them well.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Pugh is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Urashima is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Pugh is surviving well by controlling Urashima's body position as best he can.

Urashima jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Pugh is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Pugh and Urashima has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Urashima stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
A lazy left from Urashima finds it's target.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Daisuke Urashima showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Urashima tries to score with a low kick but Pugh moves his leg out of the way.

Urashima shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Urashima was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Urashima is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Pugh is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Urashima is staying tight to Pugh's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Pugh is pushing Urashima's head away, looking to escape. Urashima manages to hold on to the position though.

Urashima decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Urashima changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Pugh looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Well Urashima has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
