Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Keiran Corkhill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Burley Haines (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Keiran Corkhill!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 5 - 2, fighting out of Tokyo, Burley Haines!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Alyssa Summers and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Haines shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Corkhill's guard.

Corkhill is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Corkhill avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Corkhill has an active guard here but Haines has managed to pass into half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Haines connects with a nice short shot to Corkhill's temple.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Corkhill looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Haines works his foot free and advances to mount.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Corkhill is working to get back to half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Corkhill is working hard here to advance position.

Haines goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Corkhill turns into him and now he's in Haines's guard.

Corkhill is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Haines looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Haines controls Corkhill momentarily but Corkhill frees himself.
Corkhill wants to pass the guard but Haines is keeping the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Haines is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Haines looking for a sweep. Not yet Haines, not yet.
Corkhill wants to control from the top but Haines keeps moving.

Haines has his feet on Corkhill's thighs here. He's pushed Corkhill off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Corkhill screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Burley Haines!
A very excited looking Burley Haines rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
