The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Cid, right into the meat.
Yossarian throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

A slapping leg kick lands for Yossarian.
Yossarian thuds his right hand into Cid's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Cid on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
A looping hook to the body misses from Cid. Yossarian does a little dance to reset his feet.

Yossarian blocks a head kick by Cid.
Good exchange - Yossarian coming out on top.
Yossarian throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
It appears Cid was looking to counter with a kick there.

And Yossarian tries to counter it with a takedown but Cid pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

And Yossarian tries to counter it with a takedown but Cid pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Yossarian has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Yossarian uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Cid.

Cid takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Cid bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Yossarian dives in for a single leg takedown but Cid sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

and Cid counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Yossarian chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Cid can pounce on him.

Cid throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Yossarian stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

and Yossarian counters with a single leg into guard. Cid didn't expect that.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Yossarian stands and throws Cid's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Cid avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Yossarian.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Yossarian throws a low kick but it's checked well by Cid.

Cid lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

Cid is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Yossarian slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Let's hope that Yossarian has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Cid walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Yossarian checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Cid fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Yossarian manages to avoid it.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Yossarian is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Yossarian shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Cid as he jumps to the side.

John Yossarian showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

and Cid holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Cid does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Yossarian connects with a nice short shot to Cid's temple.
