The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams misses with an uppercut. Sotto Jr saw that one coming.
Sotto Jr walks into a straight right hand from Williams.
Sotto Jr lets loose with a powerful body kick. Williams will feel that in the morning.
Williams avoids the body shot from Sotto Jr.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Williams! But no joy.
Williams thows a left - swing and a miss!
Williams showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Sotto Jr.
Sotto Jr has been working on his boxing with his coaches at KO Gym in the buildup to the fight.
Williams looks to land a right hand but Sotto Jr moved out of range.
Sotto Jr blocks a jab.
Williams throws an overhand right that lands on Sotto Jr's shoulder, as Sotto Jr tries to avoid the shot.
Williams avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Sotto Jr tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Williams was well out of range. Poor timing from Sotto Jr.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Sotto Jr checks a leg kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sotto Jr stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Sotto Jr wants it to stay on the feet.
Sotto Jr throws out a leg kick but Williams moves out of range and Sotto Jr only half commits.
Sotto Jr scores with a jab to the head.
Sotto Jr looks for the body kick but Williams saw that one coming.
Williams changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Sotto Jr bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Williams's head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Sotto Jr goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Williams checks a leg kick nicely.
Umberto Sotto Jr is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Sotto Jr throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Williams lands a nice shot that snaps Sotto Jr's head back.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Williams shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Williams was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

My spies in The Beast inform me that Williams has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Sotto Jr is trying to control Williams's posture but Williams avoids it.

Williams works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Williams wants to control but Sotto Jr is keeping him busy.
Williams is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Sotto Jr will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Williams not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Williams seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Sotto Jr is looking to get back to full guard here but Williams has managed to pass to side control instead.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Williams tries for a kimura but Sotto Jr is defending well.

Williams's jab looks to have found its range, popping Sotto Jr under the eye.

Williams cracks Sotto Jr with a brutal left hook that knocks him out cold! This one is over in a flash! Game over!

Our winner, Austin Williams, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
