Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mike Muse!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Edward Wates!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Daniel Bishop and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Muse slaps away a takedown attempt from Wates, before circling back to the center of the mat.
As Wates backs away, Muse returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
Edward Wates seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A thudding body kick lands there by Muse!
Wates misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Muse fires out a quick counter leg kick but Wates just manages to avoid it.
Wates tries to clinch up but Muse circles away and keeps his distance.
Muse shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Wates throws a lazy head kick
and Muse counters with a lovely straight right hand!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wates closes the distance and clinches up with Muse, looking for a takedown. Wates pushes Muse against the cage but Muse circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Mike Muse has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Edward Wates.

Muse's corner calls for a 1-2. Muse obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Wates tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Muse manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Muse throws a low kick, looking for Wates's leg but Wates calmly moves out of range.
Nice uppercut lands for Muse. That snapped Wates's head back.

Muse stuns Wates with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Wates is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Muse's half guard.

Muse really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Muse does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Wates lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
