Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Boulder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Truman Goverdeen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Truman Goverdeen told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Truman Goverdeen!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boulder swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Boulder throws the kick towards the body but Goverdeen avoids it.
Boulder throws out a leg kick but Goverdeen moves out of range and Boulder only half commits.
Goverdeen misses with a jab, cross combination.
Boulder throws a big counter combination but Goverdeen scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Boulder uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Goverdeen.
Boulder was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Goverdeen is looking to clinch.
Boulder half committed to a counter leg kick.
Boulder throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Goverdeen misses with a takedown attempt - Boulder sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Boulder throws a wild body kick that Goverdeen sees coming a mile off.
Goverdeen shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Boulder but Boulder pushes him off and we're back to square one.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Boulder loads up on a big right hand but Goverdeen slips the punch.
Boulder throws a right hand that Goverdeen ducks under and follows up with a left that Goverdeen also avoids with ease.
Goverdeen tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Boulder swivels and escapes.
Boulder went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Frank Boulder has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Truman Goverdeen.
Goverdeen has Boulder up against the cage in a clinch.

Boulder stops a takedown attempt from Goverdeen.
Boulder scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Goverdeen is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Goverdeen tries to pull guard but Boulder won't allow it.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Boulder lands an elbow just above Goverdeen 's eye.
It looks like Truman Goverdeen has been cut.
Goverdeen tries to break the clinch but Boulder is controlling the position.
Goverdeen goes for a takedown in the clinch but Boulder prevents it.
Goverdeen fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Boulder misses with a knee to the head.
Boulder tries to land a knee to the head but misses.

Boulder prevents the takedown attempt.
Boulder manages to break the clinch.
Boulder throws a push kick but Goverdeen slaps the foot to one side.
Boulder fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Goverdeen checks it well.
Goverdeen fails with an attempt to clinch.
Nice sprawl there from Boulder as Goverdeen shoots in.
Goverdeen throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Boulder's waist but Boulder gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Goverdeen off to one side.
Boulder is looking to score with low kicks.
Goverdeen on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Boulder. Boulder obviously looking to wear him down.
Boulder misses with a body kick.
Boulder pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Boulder falls off balance throwing a combination
and Goverdeen counters with a two punch combo.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Goverdeen blocks the body kick.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
A looping hook to the body misses from Boulder. Goverdeen does a little dance to reset his feet.
Boulder throws a body kick that misses.
Despite the aggression on Goverdeen's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Frank Boulder seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Goverdeen lands a glancing blow to the side of Boulder's head.
Boulder will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Boulder, as that shot connected.
Goverdeen shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Boulder as he jumps to the side.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Boulder.
A big right from Boulder misses.
Boulder misses with a left hand
and Goverdeen counters with a left and a right that stings Boulder.
Goverdeen shoots in for a takedown but Boulder shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Boulder comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Goverdeen looks winded!
Boulder is looking to score with low kicks.
A clash of legs there as Goverdeen blocks the low kick.
Boulder lands a left and a right that send Goverdeen crashing to the mat, dazed. Boulder thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Goverdeen is rocked!
Boulder connects with a left and a right that sees a clearly hurt Goverdeen covering up! Boulder comes in with a big uppercut and Goverdeen goes doooown! He's slumped up against the cage, eyes staring blankly into space.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Frank Boulder!
