Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Vito Emerson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Miles Gunner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vito Emerson has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Vito Emerson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Miles Gunner!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gunner rushes Emerson and presses him up against the cage.

Gunner has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Emerson uses from the top position.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gunner wants to sweep but no luck.
Emerson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Gunner is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Emerson defends well.

Emerson lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Emerson gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Gunner feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Gunner really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Emerson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Emerson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Gunner is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Emerson tries to keep at a distance but Gunner has taken the fight into the clinch.

Gunner escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Gunner wants to stand and escape but instead Emerson has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Emerson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Gunner bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Emerson's guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Gunner can do anything to dispel that myth.

Emerson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Emerson is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Gunner can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Gunner tries to lock up and control but Emerson gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Gunner is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Emerson is staying active.

Emerson looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Emerson thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Gunner's head.
Emerson thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Gunner in particular looking to stall.
Gunner is just content to waste time from the top position. Emerson takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Gunner moves into range and clinches up with Emerson.

Gunner manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Emerson is fighting to break Gunner's control of his arms but Gunner is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

I think Gunner has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
