Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Matheus Silva and Felipe Paraventi.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maia throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Sosa tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Sosa tries to clinch up but Maia circles away and keeps his distance.
Sosa pushes Maia away with a front kick.

Maia tries to close the distance and clinch but Sosa swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Sosa moves in looking to clinch but Maia pushes him off.

Sosa sets himself and throws a head kick that knocks Maia to the ground! Sosa dives into full mount looking to finish!

Maia is rocked!

It looks like Thiago Maia has been cut.
Maia tries to reverse the position but Sosa maintains control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sosa has control of Maia's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Maia regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Maia tries to reverse the position but Sosa maintains control.
Sosa seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Maia is holding on tight.
Sosa is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Maia bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Sosa is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Sosa controls Maia momentarily but Maia frees himself.
Sosa can't keep his opponent in guard - Maia advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Maia has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Sosa is trying to escape the mount.
Maia moves to the back position.

Maia is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Sosa with him. Sosa is trying to defend but Maia has an arm under the chin now! Sosa grimaces and is forced to tap out!
