PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bartle Doo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gabriel Capitian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gabriel Capitian told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bartle Doo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gabriel Capitian!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Robert Twigg and Daniel Franklin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Capitian misses with the combination.
Doo blocks a head kick by Capitian.
Doo tries for a takedown but Capitian sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Capitian tries to clinch up but Doo circles away and keeps his distance.
Capitian throws a head kick that Doo semi-blocks.

Capitian moves into range and clinches up with Doo.
Doo prevents the takedown attempt.
Doo fails to pull guard.
Doo tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Capitian smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bartle Doo. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Doo gets a takedown into half guard.
Doo uses his free foot to push down on Capitian's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Capitian.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Doo with some aggressive grappling here, looking for the finish.
Capitian really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Doo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Doo is working for a guillotine from mount but Capitian frees his head quite easily.
Capitian tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Capitian is controlling an arm, preventing Doo from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.

Doo has control of Capitian's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Capitian regains control of the situation pretty easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Doo prevents Capitian from getting the reversal.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Doo works his way to his opponent's back.

Doo working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.
Doo is breathing heavily.
Capitian is defending well here and trying to improve his position.

Doo sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Capitian taps out!
