Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marc Du Vale (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, James Diaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Marc Du Vale!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Mauricio Rocha and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Du Vale throws a body shot but no joy.
That kick from Du Vale tenderised Diaz's leg. Diaz is trying to keep his angry face on.

Diaz moves into the clinch successfully.
Du Vale is trying to break the clinch but Diaz is controlling him.
Diaz trying to land knees to the body.
Du Vale is trying to force a seperation but Diaz has the dominant position.
Du Vale wants to break free but Diaz has control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.

Du Vale pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Diaz takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Du Vale ducks under a wild hook from Diaz.

Du Vale scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Du Vale misses with a wild combination.
Diaz feinted with a counter takedown.
Diaz misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Diaz on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Du Vale. Du Vale obviously looking to wear him down.
Diaz uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Du Vale.
Marc Du Vale is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Du Vale.
Diaz tries to counter by clinching up but Du Vale breaks away and moves out of range.

and Diaz counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Diaz.
A frustrated look appears on Du Vale's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Diaz keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Du Vale's efforts to push away.

Diaz has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Du Vale uses from the top position.
Diaz has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Diaz's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Du Vale lands a body shot.
Du Vale throws a nice outside leg kick.

Diaz has managed to clinch.
Diaz crunches a lovely knee into Du Vale's ribcage.

Diaz jumps guard and drags Du Vale to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Du Vale must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

That was a close round but I would say that James Diaz will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Diaz takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Marc Du Vale seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The crowd cheers as Du Vale lands an impressive looking overhand right. Diaz doesn't seem phased though.

Diaz seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.
Diaz throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

That was a close second round but I would say that James Diaz will probably get the nod.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Du Vale wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Du Vale tries to bum rush Diaz with a series of wild strikes but Diaz uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Diaz has picked Du Vale up - he's going for a ride! Diaz dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

James Diaz overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The referee is keeping an eye on Diaz - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Du Vale wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Diaz has him pressed against the cage.

Du Vale is trying to break the clinch but Diaz is controlling him.
Du Vale is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Diaz jumps guard but Du Vale turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Diaz manages to pull guard.
Diaz tries to land a sweep but no joy.
James Diaz is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Diaz pulls Du Vale in close to prevent any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

And that's the end of the fight!
James Diaz showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Diaz, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

James Diaz tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
