The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

And Linna tries to counter it with a takedown but Fiddler pushes his down on his head and steps out.
The crowd cheers as Linna lands an impressive looking overhand right. Fiddler doesn't seem phased though.

Fiddler has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Fiddler connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Linna momentarily.
Linna catches Fiddler with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Linna shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Fiddler as he avoids it easily.

Fiddler throws a chopping leg kick but Linna manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Linna tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Linna throws an elbow that misses. Fiddler uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Linna's guard. Nice move by Fiddler!
Linna wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Linna's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Linna steps into range and cracks Fiddler with a monster punch that buckles his knees! Fiddler flops backwards and Linna dives into his guard looking to finish!

Samppa Linna has got the better of the ground game so far.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Linna is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Fiddler is hurt! He's hurt bad - Linna fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Fiddler from any more punishment! Congratulations to Linna! Great finish!

A relieved looking Samppa Linna thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
