Flannigan has chosen Spirit Of The West "Home For A Rest" as his entrance music. Phillip Flannigan has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Joey Jits's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Joey Jits!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Phillip Flannigan!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, James Ackerman and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab by Flannigan.
A punch combination from Flannigan misses.
Flannigan lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Jits circles away quickly and effectively.
Jits tries to counter with a takedown but Flannigan is quick to defend against it.
Flannigan has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Jits is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Flannigan tries to bum rush Jits with a series of wild strikes but Jits uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Jits ducks under a wild hook from Flannigan.

Flannigan clinches with his opponent.
Flannigan wants to break free but Jits has control.
Flannigan is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Flannigan is looking to break free of the clinch but Jits has double underhooks.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Flannigan is trying to break free.

Jits pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Flannigan throws a right and a left that both miss.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Flannigan throws a one two combo.

Flannigan closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Flannigan breaks from the clinch.
Jits fails with the takedown.
Jits looks for a takedown but Flannigan sprawls well.
Jits changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Flannigan tries to avoid it but Jits manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Flannigan to the ground. Flannigan escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Flannigan lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joey Jits. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Jits rushes Flannigan and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Jits tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Jits prevents Flannigan from breaking the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jits tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Flannigan just stands there and leans against the cage.
Flannigan wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Flannigan manages to break the clinch.

Flannigan has managed to clinch.
Jits fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Flannigan pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Jits looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Phillip Flannigan is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Flannigan fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Jits, pushing him back against the cage.
Flannigan wants to break the clinch but can't.

Flannigan breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Flannigan moves into the clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Jits's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Flannigan lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Flannigan.
Flannigan stuffs the takedown.
As Jits backs off Flannigan throws a huge counter combo but Jits manages to avoid it all.
Jits dives in and grabs Flannigan's left leg, looking for a takedown. Flannigan pushes down on Jits's head and hops out.
Jits shoots in for a takedown but Flannigan shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Flannigan stuffs the takedown.
Flannigan looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Jits half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Decent striking displayed by Flannigan there.
Jits doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Flannigan counters with a nice right hand that sends Jits toppling to the canvas! Jits scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Flannigan finish him?!


Jits is rocked!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Flannigan connects with a nice cross there... Jits is looking wobbly and Flannigan recognises it - he's rushed in and lands two more brutal shots that send Jits to the canvas, out cold! A brutal finish to the fight - Flannigan jumps onto the cage to celebrate with the crowd!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:13 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Phillip Flannigan!
After winning the bout, Phillip Flannigan thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
