Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rick Rude (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Capital Punishment (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rude comes to the cage accompanied by The RAVISHING 1 strutting down the isle as confetti falls. Punishment is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Everybody by: Yo Gotti. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rick Rude!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Capital Punishment!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Columbo Gatti and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rude slaps away a takedown attempt from Punishment, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Rude throws a series of strikes that have Punishment backpedaling.
Punishment fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Rude connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Punishment is trying hard to land a takedown here. Rude sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Rick Rude has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Capital Punishment.
Punishment fails with the takedown
and Rude counters with a nice uppercut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Punishment gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Rude.
Punishment goes for a double leg but Rude avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Rude continues to drive forward.
It looked like Rude was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Rude swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Rude bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Punishment's head backwards.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Punishment throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Rude's waist but Rude gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Punishment off to one side.
Rude fails to land with a series of punches.
Punishment tries to counter with a clinch but Rude shakes him off and moves away.
Punishment shoots in for a double leg but Rude sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Punishment fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Rude to the ground. Punishment is now in Rude's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Punishment throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Rude on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Rude tries to get out of the position.
Rude wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Punishment is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Rude looking for a sweep. Not yet Rude, not yet.
Punishment trying to control but Rude is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Rude is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Punishment is controlling him.
Punishment trying to control the position from guard on top but Rude is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Punishment passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Rude is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Punishment has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Punishment looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Punishment working his ground and pound in the gym.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Rude is not content to let Punishment control the position.
Punishment has an Americana. Rude didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Punishment is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Punishment hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Capital Punishment!
