Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Cesar Quinta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Louis Sobiesky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Louis Sobiesky has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Cesar Quinta's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Cesar Quinta!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Louis Sobiesky!
The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Hugh Johnson and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circle momentarily. Sobiesky darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Quinta shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Sobiesky napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Quinta in side control lands a decent elbow.
Quinta fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Sobiesky avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Quinta.

Quinta is trying to get an arm triangle but Sobiesky is defending well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Quinta tries to score with some ground and pound. Sobiesky controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Sobiesky is not content to let Quinta control the position.
Quinta throws a strike aimed at the side of Sobiesky's head but Sobiesky avoids it well.

Quinta wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Sobiesky, who protects the arm well.

Quinta throws a right and a left that both miss.
Quinta throws a series of punches but Sobiesky moves out of range.
Quinta lands with a hook. Sobiesky tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Sobiesky takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Sobiesky slips a jab and a cross from Quinta.
Sobiesky takes a shot right to the bread basket.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Sobiesky throws a body punch but Quinta moves out of range.
Quinta throws a sloppy head kick and Sobiesky moves out of range easily.
Quinta throws a right and a left that both miss.
Sobiesky lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Quinta jabs at Sobiesky's body.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Quinta lands a high kick to the side of Sobiesky's head that stuns him and send him tumbling down to the canvas! Quinta dives into guard, looking to finish.


Sobiesky is rocked!


It looks like Louis Sobiesky has been cut.
Our spies down at at Bad Pluto! (18 Elite Coach) inform us that Sobiesky has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

Quinta shoots for a takedown but Sobiesky saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Quinta throws a right hand that Sobiesky ducks under and follows up with a left that Sobiesky also avoids with ease.
Quinta lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Quinta tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Quinta lands with a hook. Sobiesky tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Sobiesky looks to land a right hand but Quinta moved out of range.
Quinta shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Sobiesky defends it nicely.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Quinta is on top in guard.

Quinta throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Sobiesky has hold of Quinta's hands but Quinta slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Sobiesky moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Quinta landing some decent shots from guard.
Quinta wants to control from the top but Sobiesky keeps moving.
Quinta stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sobiesky swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Cesar Quinta overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Sobiesky is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Quinta defends well.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Quinta advances position into side control!
Quinta remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Quinta in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Sobiesky managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Quinta.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Quinta shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Quinta showed some decent athleticism there.
