Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Second Foot!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shael Connen!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Alan Glass and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Connen shoots in for a double leg but Foot sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Connen takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Foot lands a head shot.


It looks like Shael Connen has been cut.
Connen fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Foot lands a jab-cross combination.

Connen drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Connen throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Foot prevents Connen from improving position.
Foot tries to improve position but can't.
Connen working the body and head with strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Connen tries to move into full mount but can't pass Foot's legs.

The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

Connen goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Foot has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Connen but great work by Foot.
Foot wants to lay and pray for a moment but Connen keeps working.
Connen keeping his opponent close.
Connen tries to get back to half guard but can't.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Foot trying to control the action but Connen is working from the bottom.
Connen tries to improve position but can't.
Foot tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Connen tries to bench press Foot off him but Foot keeps the position.
Connen manages to get back to half guard.

Connen has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Foot is on him like a limpet, forcing Connen back against the cage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Connen is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Foot pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Second Foot has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shael Connen.
Connen is looking for a takedown.
Foot swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Foot looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Connen goes for a takedown attempt but Foot pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Connen has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Foot finds it's way round the side to connect with Connen's head.
Foot defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Connen.

Foot trying to control the action but Connen is working from the bottom.

Connen throws Foot to one side and escapes!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Connen.

Connen throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Foot was covering up waiting for the punch and Connen finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Connen postures up in Foot's guard and throws a big left but Foot blocks it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Shael Connen will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Shael Connen's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Foot, as that shot connected.

Connen closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Foot quickly recovers to half guard.
Connen is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Connen has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Connen seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Foot is in trouble now - Connen has advanced to mount!
Connen is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Foot can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Poor strikes thrown by Connen there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Connen has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Foot's face.

Foot taking shots to the head.
Connen cracks Foot with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Connen lands a big elbow.
Connen has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Connen avoids the attempt from Foot to control.
Connen scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Foot?
The referee warns Foot that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Connen cracks Foot with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Connen unloads with some shots from mount but Foot bucks and avoids them well.
Connen lands a heavy elbow.
Connen lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Connen connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Connen breaks from Foot's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Connen lands a big shot there that rocks Foot but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Connen looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Foot covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!
