Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between El Chingon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mikael Sankari (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). El Chingon looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, El Chingon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mikael Sankari!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Arvi Lind and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sankari darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Chingon looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Sankari is tying to control. Chingon wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Sankari is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Chingon tries to get to full guard but Sankari has control of the leg.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sankari is looking for a kimura but Chingon is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Sankari to get the leverage.
Sankari is looking to take a break and control but Chingon is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Sankari shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Sankari was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Sankari tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Sankari not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Chingon not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Chingon keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Sankari shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Chingon tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Sankari trying to control the position from guard on top but Chingon is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Chingon bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Sankari's guard.

Mikael Sankari showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Sankari doesn't manage to clinch there - Chingon circles away.

Sankari closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Sankari wants to pass the guard but Chingon is defending well.
Chingon tries to roll over but Sankari keeps him under control.
Mikael Sankari has got the better of the ground game so far.
Sankari passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Chingon!
Chingon wants to hold on but Sankari pushes him away.
Chingon tries to reverse the position but Sankari maintains control.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Chingon is in a horrible position here. Sankari smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Sankari working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Chingon wants to control but Sankari is keeping busy.
Chingon is trying to stand.
Sankari is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.

Chingon is looking for a triangle but Sankari pushes his legs off easily.
Chingon looking for a sweep. Not yet Chingon, not yet.
Sankari trying to control but Chingon is working from the bottom.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Sankari shoots in looking for a takedown. Chingon tries to sprawl out of it but Sankari keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Chingon manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Mikael Sankari is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Chingon shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Sankari counters with a shoot takedown. Chingon fights it but they end up in guard.
Chingon seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Sankari thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Sankari is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Chingon is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Mikael Sankari comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Sankari winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
