PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Micheal Taylor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe McDoogle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Taylor comes into the arena with I have a dream blaring out of the sound system. Joe McDoogle has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Micheal Taylor's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Micheal Taylor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Joe McDoogle!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Ian Loll and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Taylor looks to clinch
and Taylor takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
A solid body kick from McDoogle.
Taylor throws a head kick but McDoogle moves out of range.
McDoogle throws a looping overhand right but Taylor ducks down to avoid it.
It looked like Taylor wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Taylor blocks a head kick by McDoogle.
McDoogle tries a head kick but it misses.
McDoogle misses with a low kick.
Taylor throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around McDoogle's waist but McDoogle gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Taylor off to one side.
McDoogle throws a counter combo.
McDoogle scores with a leg kick.
Taylor dives in for a single leg takedown but McDoogle sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
McDoogle throws out a counter right but Taylor avoids it with no problem.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McDoogle cracks Taylor with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
McDoogle misses with a few strikes there.
McDoogle lands with a nice combination. Taylor backs away looking to recover.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Taylor drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
McDoogle told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.

Taylor looking to pass the guard.
McDoogle really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Taylor. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

McDoogle is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Taylor defends well.
Taylor trying to control but McDoogle is working from the bottom.
Taylor preventing the sweep.
McDoogle not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Taylor is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
McDoogle is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Taylor controlling from the top position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Taylor tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
McDoogle lands a jab.
McDoogle swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Taylor.

McDoogle tries to keep at a distance but Taylor has taken the fight into the clinch.
Taylor tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Micheal Taylor. That's going to take a lot out of him.
McDoogle gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Taylor.
Taylor definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

McDoogle breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Taylor feints and as McDoogle raises his hands in defense, Taylor changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
McDoogle preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

McDoogle is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Taylor defends well.
Taylor stands and throws McDoogle's legs to the side, diving into side control.
McDoogle tries to improve position but can't.
Taylor working away.
Taylor wants to stand but McDoogle has his arm trapped.
McDoogle is looking for a sweep.
McDoogle is trying to control Taylor's posture but Taylor avoids it.
Taylor in side control, just content to control the action for now.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
McDoogle tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Taylor presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
McDoogle working to try and regain half guard.
McDoogle tries to hold on but Taylor postures up.

Taylor is going oldschool here, as he tries to force McDoogle to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so McDoogle shrugs it off.
Taylor prevents McDoogle from getting the reversal.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Joe McDoogle dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


McDoogle throws a jab when Taylor was well out of range.
Taylor really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Jab from McDoogle.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts McDoogle, as that shot connected.
McDoogle's jab looks to have found its range, popping Taylor under the eye.
Taylor misses with a double jab
and McDoogle counters with a stiff right hand.
McDoogle throws a quick inside leg kick.
McDoogle works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Taylor looks to land a right hand but McDoogle moved out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nice takedown defense from McDoogle. No joy for Taylor on that attempt.
Taylor shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
McDoogle circles away from the clinch attempt.
Taylor fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Micheal Taylor. That's going to take a lot out of him.

No luck with that takedown attempt from Taylor.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Nice straight punches there by McDoogle. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of McDoogle.
McDoogle throws a big shot that misses.
Taylor is looking to counter the offense by McDoogle and move into the clinch.
McDoogle has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
McDoogle dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Taylor. That did some damage!
McDoogle lands a head shot.


Taylor is rocked!
McDoogle throws a nice looking combination but Taylor bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Oh Taylor is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Taylor has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from McDoogle.
Taylor seems to have got his legs back now.
McDoogle misses with a looping left.
Taylor misses with a few strikes there.
A big right from McDoogle misses.
Taylor tries to counter with a takedown but McDoogle is quick to defend against it.
Taylor takes a jab right on the kisser.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
McDoogle connects with a jab.
Taylor takes one on the chin but seems OK.
This has been an exciting period of action!
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Taylor checks a leg kick.
Taylor misses with the body kick
and McDoogle counters with a crisp right that sends Taylor to the canvas! McDoogle follows up with punches from the mount and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:24 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Joe McDoogle!
A very excited looking Joe McDoogle made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
