Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Samuel Adams!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Staph Aureus!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Adams takes the fight into the clinch.
Adams drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Aureus gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Aureus lands an elbow that stopped Adams in his tracks for a moment.


It looks like Samuel Adams has been cut.
We've been hearing reports that Adams has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Adams is trying to break free.
Aureus prevents the takedown attempt.
Aureus lands an elbow just above Adams 's eye.
Aureus lands a damaging elbow.


Samuel Adams's cut is getting worse.
Aureus tries a body shot but Adams blocks it.

Samuel Adams's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Aureus is pressed up against the cage. Adams has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Aureus down to the mat. Aureus avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Samuel Adams. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Aureus looking for a guillotine here but Adams defends easily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Aureus has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Adams can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Aureus is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Adams is controlling him.
Adams makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Aureus working for a triangle but Adams defends it easily.
Adams trying to control the position from guard on top but Aureus is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Adams trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Adams engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Adams works over Aureus with some ground and pound from guard.

Adams drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Adams jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Adams trying to control the position from guard on top but Aureus is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Adams closes this distance looking for a takedown but Aureus circles away.

Aureus darts in and clinches Adams up against the cage.
Adams tries for a takedown. No joy.

Adams is looking to take this one to the mat.
Aureus keeps control of Adams as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Aureus obliges.
Adams on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Adams has Aureus pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Aureus manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Aureus lands a knee to the body.
Adams is breathing heavily.
Aureus landing knees to the body.
Aureus scores a nice knee to the body.
Aureus lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Adams takes an elbow to the temple.


Jeez, Samuel Adams's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Aureus is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Samuel Adams's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
