The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Campana lands a leg kick that knocks Stephenson off balance momentarily.
Campana connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Campana misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Stephenson is looking to counter with head kicks.
Stephenson tries to clinch up.

Campana gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Stephenson to score an easy takedown into full guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Campana goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Campana leaves Stephenson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Stephenson shoots in looking for a takedown. Campana tries to sprawl out of it but Stephenson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Campana manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Quincy Stephenson. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Stephenson is looking to counter the offense by Campana and move into the clinch.

Stephenson walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Stephenson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Campana tries to avoid it but Stephenson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Campana to the ground. Campana escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Stephenson shoots in for a takedown but Campana shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Horrible takedown attempt by Stephenson or perhaps it was just good defense by Campana, which made it look bad.
Campana looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

Campana thuds his right hand into Stephenson's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Stephenson throws a looping overhand right but Campana ducks down to avoid it.
Campana throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Stephenson seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.

Stephenson throws the kick towards the body but Campana avoids it.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Stephenson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Campana sprawls well initially but Stephenson persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Campana is not content to let Stephenson control the position.
Stephenson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Stephenson tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Campana.

Stephenson decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Campana wants to get back to striking at distance but Stephenson won't allow it.
Stephenson has Campana pressed against the cage, preventing Campana from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Stephenson fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Campana, pushing him back against the cage.
Campana is trying to maintain a safe position but Stephenson gets an underhook and turns Campana into the cage.

Stephenson has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Campana clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Campana is defending well here and trying to improve his position.

Campana is breathing heavily.
Campana has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Stephenson.

Stephenson is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Campana feints and then cracks Stephenson's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Stephenson down.
