Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ska Asap (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Calvin Brooks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brooks has chosen 2nd Sucks - A Day To Remember as his entrance music. Calvin Brooks acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Ska Asap!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Calvin Brooks!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Donald Grub and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab from Brooks misses.
Asap looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Brooks drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Asap tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Brooks wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
We've been hearing good reports from Asap's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Brooks fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Brooks wants to stand but Asap is controlling his arm.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Brooks accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
A left and a right from Brooks both land. Nice combination.

Brooks closes this distance looking for a takedown but Asap circles away.
Horrible takedown attempt by Asap or perhaps it was just good defense by Brooks, which made it look bad.

Brooks shoots in looking for a takedown but Asap manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Brooks's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Asap changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Brooks looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Brooks is just content to waste time from the top position. Asap takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Asap shoots in for a double leg but Brooks sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Brooks has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Asap goes for a double leg but Brooks avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Brooks continues to drive forward.
Ska Asap is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Asap shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Asap was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Brooks is looking to regain half guard here but Asap keeps moving and retains side control.

That was a close second round but I would say that Ska Asap will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Brooks clobbers Asap with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Brooks stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Brooks wants it to stay on the feet.

Brooks is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Asap defends it well.

I think Brooks has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Calvin Brooks really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Vikai Gear logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
