The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloppy strikes from McGrath. Those never looked like landing.
Gouveia throws a series of punches but McGrath moves out of range.
McGrath tries to counter with a takedown but Gouveia is quick to defend against it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McGrath keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.

Gouveia lands with an uppercut that bounces McGrath off the cage and back into range.

We've been told by McGrath's head coaches at The Performance Center that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

McGrath bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

McGrath is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Gouveia looks calm but he's in trouble here. McGrath gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Gouveia is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! McGrath lets go of the hold and Gouveia can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Calvin McGrath spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
