Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Karl Heinz Bauser (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pepo Vinkela (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bauser throws the kick towards the body but Vinkela avoids it.

Bauser gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Vinkela drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Bauser manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Vinkela has Bauser in his guard.

Bauser wants to get up but he can't break Vinkela's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Vinkela drops back, looking for a kneebar! Bauser looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Bauser looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Bauser!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Vinkela dives in for a single leg takedown but Bauser sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Bauser is on top in guard.

Bauser has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Bauser wants to stand but Vinkela is controlling his posture from full guard.
Vinkela is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Karl Heinz Bauser.
I think Vinkela has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
