Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joe Sutherland!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sirus Jones!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Tiny Johnson and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Jones lands a nice looking body shot.
The fighters circling - Jones throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Sutherland walks into a straight right hand from Jones.
Jones misses with a jab, cross combination.
Jones cracks Sutherland with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Jones misses with a two punch combination.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A telegraphed right hand from Jones misses the target.
Jones misses with a straight right.
Sutherland throws a big counter combination but Jones scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sutherland walks into a jab.
Jones misses with an uppercut.
As Jones looks to move away, Sutherland throws a big counter combo bu Jones just gets out of the way.
Jones throws a looping overhand right but Sutherland ducks down to avoid it.
Sutherland went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Sutherland displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Jones throws out the jab.
Sutherland walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
A shot to the liver by Jones. Beautiful body shot.
Jones lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Sirus Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sutherland uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Jones.
Jones might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Jones scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Jones stuns Sutherland with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Good shot there by Jones.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Sutherland staying out of range there.
Sutherland appears to be looking for a big counter.
A big right from Jones misses.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sutherland keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Jones.
Some wild striking there from Jones.
Jones throws out a loose jab but Sutherland uses good head movement to avoid it.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Sutherland ducks under a wild hook from Jones.
Jones pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Jones throws a right and a left that both miss.
It looked like Sutherland was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Jones scores with the left hand. Sutherland knows he should have avoided that one.
Jones lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!


Sutherland is rocked!
Jones cracks Sutherland on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Sutherland falls backwards against the cage. Jones follows up with more strikes that drop Sutherland to his knees. Jones keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Sutherland! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sirus Jones!
During a confident post fight interview, Sirus Jones thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
