The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gunacrii keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

It looks like Yuta Wakabayashi has been cut.
Gunacrii scores with a crisp jab that stopped Wakabayashi in his tracks.
Wakabayashi takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Wakabayashi avoids the body shot from Gunacrii.
Gunacrii lands with a shot to the body.

Wakabayashi fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Gunacrii sprawls well initially but Wakabayashi persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Wakabayashi is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Wakabayashi thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Gunacrii's head.
Wakabayashi trying to control from half guard but Gunacrii is working away.
Gunacrii knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Wakabayashi on the ground.
Wakabayashi thows a huge punch but Gunacrii dodges it nicely.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Gunacrii is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Wakabayashi is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Gunacrii defends it well.
