PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Valentin Padilla (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oleg Nemkov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Valentin Padilla!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Oleg Nemkov!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Fedor Mirinova and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Padilla is looking to clinch but Nemkov is avoiding it.

Padilla clinches with his opponent.

Nemkov manages to break the clinch.
Nemkov misses with the combination.
Padilla moves in looking to clinch but Nemkov pushes him off.
Nemkov throws a sloppy head kick and Padilla moves out of range easily.
Padilla tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Nemkov paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Nemkov drives through and clinches with Padilla against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Padilla doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Padilla walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Nemkov throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Padilla was covering up waiting for the punch and Nemkov finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Padilla is looking to stand up but Nemkov isn't so interested in that idea.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Nemkov changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Padilla looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Padilla tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Nemkov wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Padilla is breathing heavily.
Nemkov throws a strike aimed at the side of Padilla's head but Padilla avoids it well.
Nemkov tries to move into full mount but can't pass Padilla's legs.

That's time! Padilla's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



A momentary lapse in concentration from Padilla enables Nemkov to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Padilla manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Padilla has control of Nemkov's left arm, preventing Nemkov from doing any damage.

Nemkov is fighting to break Padilla's control of his arms but Padilla is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Nemkov. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Nemkov has Padilla pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Nemkov pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Padilla tumbling to the mat - Nemkov dives into Padilla's guard.

Padilla jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Nemkov walks away with a smile on his face. Padilla gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Oleg Nemkov comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Nemkov has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
