PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chwytny Vlad (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Suon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Suon comes into a darkened arena with his song building. DMX kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Jack Suon will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Richard Clark and Colin Fotheringham.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vlad throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Suon's waist but Suon gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Vlad off to one side.
Suon bobbing and weaving well here. And he's unloaded with a massive right hand that drops Vlad! He dives into his guard looking to finish!

It looks like Chwytny Vlad has been cut.
Vlad bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Suon's guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Vlad drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Suon manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Vlad has Suon in his guard.

Suon wants to control from the top but Vlad keeps moving.

Suon avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Vlad is working an open guard so Suon takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Suon dips to his left and cracks Vlad with an uppercut!
Vlad is breathing heavily.
Vlad uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Suon.
Suon drops Vlad with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Vlad looks back up at him and smiles so Suon waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Jack Suon is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

A slow jab from Suon misses its intended target.
Suon looks to throw the jab but Vlad is out of range.
Suon throws a hook to the side of Vlad's head but Vlad sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Nice combo by Suon! Oh, that's hurt him - Vlad falls to the canvas and Suon follows him into side control.

Suon decides to stand back up. Suon steps back and let's Vlad get back to his feet.
Vlad avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Suon swings for the body but Vlad moves out of range.
Suon throws a series of punches but Vlad avoids them all with ease.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Vlad. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Suon will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Vlad shoots in looking for a takedown. Suon tries to sprawl out of it but Vlad keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Suon manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Suon lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Suon just misses with a punch to the body.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Vlad shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Suon loads up on a big right hand but Vlad slips the punch.

Suon rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Vlad moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Vlad closes the distance and clinches up with Suon, looking for a takedown. Vlad pushes Suon against the ropes but Suon circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Vlad drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Vlad wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Suon, who protects the arm well.
Suon gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Suon holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
