Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pernell Karl (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Pedro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). George Pedro told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, George Pedro!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Radbod Blank and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Karl misses the jab.
Pedro misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Karl missing with a left hand there. Pedro was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
And Pedro tries to counter it with a takedown but Karl pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Karl lands a nice shot to the body.
Karl has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

and Karl counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Pedro slips a straight right by Karl.

Pedro closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Karl knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Pedro on the ground.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pedro advances nicely into full mount.

It looks like Pernell Karl has been cut.

Pedro is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Karl can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Pedro lands a heavy shot. That's hurt Karl! Pedro sees the opportunity and turns up the heat - strike after strike land to the defenseless Karl and the ref dives in to save him! This one is all over!
