PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Santiago Palmer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Boston Dallas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Palmer comes to the cage accompanied by GSP - Not Impressed. Dallas has chosen Bo-lieve as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Santiago Palmer!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Boston Dallas!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Jorge Garcia and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dallas throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Palmer.

Palmer dives in and scores a takedown into Dallas's guard.
Dallas wants to stand up but Palmer is controlling him.
Palmer passes Dallas's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Dallas really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Palmer. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Palmer is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Dallas is trying to stand up here but Palmer is controlling him well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Well, if Palmer is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Palmer is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Dallas defends it well.

Dallas is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Palmer.

Palmer closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Palmer wants to take a breather but Dallas is having none of it.

Dallas swings for the body but Palmer moves out of range.
Boston Dallas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dallas misses with a hook. Palmer ducked under it nicely.
Dallas ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Dallas throws a body shot but no joy.
Palmer changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

Palmer shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Dallas's guard.
Dallas keeping moving, preventing Palmer from controlling successfully.
Palmer stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dallas swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Palmer is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Dallas is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Dallas is squirming around, avoiding Palmer's attempts to control the action.

Dallas trying desperately to get to his feet.
Palmer wants to control the pace but Dallas is squirming around nicely.
Dallas stops Palmer from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.
Dallas tries to buck Palmer off but he can't manage it.
Palmer moves to back control.

Dallas tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Boston Dallas is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Palmer bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Dallas's head backwards.
Dallas lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Palmer circles away quickly and effectively.
Palmer is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Dallas can do to turn this around?

Dallas throws out a leg kick but Palmer moves out of range and Dallas only half commits.

It looks like Palmer has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.
