The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Joseph Jones and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Caesar stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Nixon.
Nixon gets caught flat footed, as Caesar shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nixon looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Caesar has picked Nixon up and slammed him! Nixon can't keep hold of the triangle and Caesar manages to pass to side control!
Caesar wants to stand but Nixon has his arm trapped.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Caesar working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Caesar is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Nixon is trying to escape and Caesar transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Nixon is forced to tap! Nice work there by Caesar! Very nice indeed!
