The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boykiy connects with a good right hand that stumbles Mabogo. Mabogo circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Boykiy.
Mabogo appears to be looking for a big counter.
Boykiy shoots in for a takedown but Mabogo shows good takedown defense.
Mabogo throws a quick inside leg kick.
Mabogo feints and then cracks Boykiy's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Boykiy down.

Boykiy let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Mabogo tries to bum rush Boykiy with a series of wild strikes but Boykiy uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Boykiy closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Mabogo is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Russian Fighting Community Gym, so we'll see if he gets out of it.
