Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Douglas Morrisson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Doug Schmiddy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Schmiddy has chosen Devil as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Douglas Morrisson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Doug Schmiddy!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Gwen Towbar and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schmiddy jabs Morrisson to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Morrisson fails with a takedown attempt.
Morrisson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Schmiddy sprawls well. Schmiddy wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Morrisson gets slowly back to his feet.
Morrisson is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Schmiddy lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Morrisson blocks the body kick.
Schmiddy throws a head kick but Morrisson moves out of range.
Morrisson fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Douglas Morrisson. That's going to take a lot out of him.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Morrisson creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Schmiddy sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Schmiddy wants to get back to his feet but Morrisson drags him back down.

Morrisson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Schmiddy keeps working.

Morrisson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Morrisson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Morrisson tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Morrisson looks up at the clock and then as Schmiddy takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Morrisson smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Morrisson prevents Schmiddy from escaping the position.
The strikes coming from Morrisson are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Morrisson sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Schmiddy is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Morrisson postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Morrisson works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Schmiddy is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Schmiddy is not content to let Morrisson control the position.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Schmiddy pushes Morrisson away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Morrisson gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Morrisson tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Morrisson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Schmiddy pushes Morrisson away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Morrisson gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


A big left from Schmiddy misses.
Schmiddy scores with a jab.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Morrisson.
We've been told by Morrisson's head coaches at B.P.A.: 3230+ SKILL PTS COACHES + 160Q SUPPLEMENT that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Schmiddy is looking to land body kicks.
Schmiddy throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Morrisson stumbling backwards into the cage! Morrisson bounces back off the cage towards Schmiddy, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Schmiddy lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Schmiddy celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:20 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Doug Schmiddy!
After the fight, Doug Schmiddy was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
