And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Saam Ante and Daniel Blasius.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Name shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Vasquez manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Vasquez looking to hit a scissor sweep but Name is one step ahead there.

Vasquez has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Name can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Vasquez lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Name really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Vasquez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Vasquez gets to his feet. Name looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Name shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Vasquez napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Vasquez is trying to get back to half guard.
Vasquez is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Name has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Name scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Vasquez to see if he's OK.
Vasquez tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Name wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Name thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Vasquez gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Vasquez is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Name's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Name's back!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Name wants to get back to his feet.

Name is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Name can't escape the position.
Name trying to control the hands but Vasquez breaks the grip.

Vasquez seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Name for as long as he can get away with.

Vasquez is cranking Name's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Name! He's tightened the choke and Name is tapping out!
