Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Adam Patel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Phyuck Yui!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Shirou Masuda and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yui moves into the clinch successfully.
Yui has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Patel is trying to keep an underhook but Yui manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Patel really is a fat lump.
Yui trying to advance position but Patel counters by regaining guard.
Patel not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Yui content to stall in guard here.
Yui wants to stand but Patel is controlling his posture from full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Yui won't allow Patel to sweep him here.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Yui wants to control from the top but Patel keeps moving.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Patel is on top in guard.
Patel might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Patel wants to get up but he can't break Yui's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Patel throwing strikes but missing.
Yui preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Yui is trying to keep Patel in close.
Patel distracts Yui with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Patel accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Yui is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Yui sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Patel defending well though.
Yui thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Patel's head.
Yui is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Patel reverses the position - he's now on top in Yui's guard.
Patel lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Yui is working an open guard so Patel takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Yui closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Patel to the mat! Patel manages to get full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Yui stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Patel swivels though and keeps the full guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Yui accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Yui slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Patel controls Yui momentarily but Yui frees himself.
Patel wants to stand and escape but Yui is having none of it.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Yui stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Patel throws up his legs and catches Yui in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Yui tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Patel! That came out of nowhere!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Adam Patel!
