Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Gwen Towbar and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gashimov misses with a jab, cross combination.
Gashimov gets a double leg takedown into Pettis's guard.
Pettis escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Gashimov gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Pettis looking to control.
Gashimov passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Gashimov tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gashimov looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Gashimov has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Gashimov slows the pace down.
Gashimov in side control lands a decent elbow.
Gashimov wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Pettis, who protects the arm well.
Pettis tries to bench press Gashimov off him but Gashimov keeps the position.
Pettis regains half guard.
Gashimov has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Gashimov looking to finish Pettis with some ground and pound. This is bad for Pettis!
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Gashimov prevents Pettis from getting the reversal.
Gashimov postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Pettis looks a forlorn figure.
Gashimov moves to back control.
Gashimov looking for the rear naked choke. And he's got it! Pettis taps!
