PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mace Windu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shaun McTared (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McTared comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Llama song kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mace Windu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Cecil Peabody and Tiny Johnson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McTared slips under a jab from Windu.
McTared uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Windu.
Windu wants to slow McTared down by chopping away at his legs.
Windu throws a low kick but it's checked well by McTared.
Windu scores with a kick to the body.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from McTared is defended easily by Windu.
Windu definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
McTared uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Windu.
McTared throws a counter combo.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McTared with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Windu to score with a decent uppercut.

Windu lands a big head kick that sends McTared tumbling to the mat! Windu takes a step backwards and waves McTared back to his feet - he wants the finish!

McTared is rocked!

It looks like Shaun McTared has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

McTared gets the takedown into side control.

McTared has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Windu tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
McTared moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Windu looks to land a right hand but McTared moved out of range.
McTared keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
McTared shoots for a double leg takedown but Windu sprawls well. He's pushed McTared's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
McTared fails with the takedown.
Mace Windu has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shaun McTared.
Windu lands a front kick.
McTared looks winded!
Windu cracks McTared with a right hand to the side of the head.
Windu connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed McTared momentarily.
That kick from Windu tenderised McTared's leg. McTared is trying to keep his angry face on.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Windu misses with a low kick as McTared jumps back.
McTared takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
A nice leg kick lands there from Windu.

McTared scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
McTared controlling the position.
Windu can't do much from the bottom here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Windu gets back to half guard.

Windu looking for submissions off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Windu is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but McTared pulls his head out easily.
Windu is trying to control but can't.
Windu tries to roll over but McTared keeps him under control.

Windu is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of McTared's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take McTared's back!

Windu has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, McTared has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Windu has his arm under McTared's chin here. Game over son! Windu squeezes tightly and McTared is forced to tap out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Mace Windu!
Mace Windu tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
Shaun McTared spoke after the fight, saying 'Just Wait till next time.'.
