Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mike Eash (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Roberts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mike Eash!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Michael Roberts!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Daniel Franklin and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Eash will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Eash moves in looking to clinch but Roberts pushes him off.
Roberts shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Eash sprawls well. Eash wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Roberts gets slowly back to his feet.
Eash stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Eash wants it to stay on the feet.
Eash is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Roberts.
Roberts fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Eash avoids it really well and circles away.
Mike Eash has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Michael Roberts.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Roberts shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Roberts looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Roberts prevents Eash from standing back up.
Eash wants to get back to full guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Roberts is working for a kimura but Eash is defending it quite comfortably.
Roberts thows a huge punch but Eash dodges it nicely.

Roberts is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Eash defends it well.

Eash kicks off Roberts and gets to his feet.
Roberts walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Eash throws a nice head kick!
Eash lands with a kick to the temple. Roberts shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Roberts throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Roberts shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Eash's guard.
Eash utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Eash is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Roberts is controlling him.

Eash has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Roberts off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Eash scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Eash slaps away a takedown attempt from Roberts, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Eash gets tackled into the cage by Roberts. Roberts maintains the clinch.
Eash can't get the takedown.
Roberts is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Eash gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Roberts blocks the elbow strike.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Eash drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Roberts gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Eash pushes off an throws an elbow but Roberts leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Roberts has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Eash avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Eash comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Eash is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

Roberts is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Eash can't fight it off and eventually Roberts manages to take the fight to the floor. Eash looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Eash has his foot on Roberts's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Roberts works his way back into a safe position though.
Roberts looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Mike Eash will probably get the nod.
That's time! Eash's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Eash keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Roberts misses with a takedown attempt - Eash sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Roberts takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Eash looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Roberts blocks a head kick by Eash.
Eash fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Roberts tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Eash defends well and Roberts ends up having to push Eash into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Eash throws a counter high kick but Roberts was just alert enough to avoid it.

Roberts gets tackled into the cage by Eash. Eash maintains the clinch.
Eash lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Roberts backwards.
Eash is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Roberts can do to turn this around?
Eash can't get the takedown.
Roberts prevents a body shot from Eash.
Roberts is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Eash is defending well.

Eash throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Roberts has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Eash after a bit of a struggle.

Roberts wants the takedown. Eash is fighting it off but Roberts persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Eash's guard against the cage.
Roberts is breathing heavily.
Roberts with a nice head shot there.
Eash is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Roberts is controlling him.

Eash is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Roberts has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Roberts unleashes a big counter combination but Eash bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

No joy there for Eash, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Roberts takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Roberts shoots in but Eash avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Roberts walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Mike Eash is winning the standup battle so far.
Roberts shoots in for a double leg but Eash sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Roberts.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mike Eash dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Roberts misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Eash clinches up with Roberts and pushes him back against the cage.
Roberts wants a takedown.
Eash stops a takedown attempt from Roberts.
Mike Eash has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Michael Roberts.
Eash throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Roberts blocks it with crossed arms.
Roberts tries to score a body lock takedown but Eash shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Roberts is trying to drag Eash to the mat but Eash just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Roberts takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Eash manages to pull guard.

Roberts drops back looking for a leg! Eash is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Eash manages to kick Roberts off! Roberts jumps back into Eash's guard.
Eash wants to sweep here but Roberts controlling him for the moment.
Eash has Roberts pulled in close to control his posture.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Roberts slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Roberts is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Roberts throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Eash not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Eash pulls Roberts in close to prevent any damage.

Eash has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Roberts can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Eash is looking to stand up but Roberts isn't so interested in that idea.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
The fighters circle momentarily. Eash darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Roberts fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Eash throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Roberts shoots in for a double leg but Eash sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Eash seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.

Eash gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Roberts takes an elbow to the temple.
Roberts goes for a takedown in the clinch but Eash prevents it.
Eash tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Roberts just stands there and leans against the cage.

Eash manages to break the clinch.
Eash jabs Roberts right on the nose. Roberts blinks but takes it well.
Roberts shoots in but Eash avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Eash scores with a decent looking hook.
Mike Eash is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Eash takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Eash stuffs the takedown.
Eash swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Eash shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Roberts eats them both and turns towards Eash to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Roberts takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

Eash rushes Roberts and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Eash lands a right hand.
Michael Roberts has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Eash breaks from the clinch.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Eash tries a head kick but it misses.
A jab lands there for Eash.
Roberts darts in looking for a takedown but Eash gets double underhooks and turns Roberts into the cage.

And that's the end of the fight!
Mike Eash showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Eash, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
