The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Belfort.

And Belfort tries to counter it with a takedown but Smorebrod pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Smorebrod jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Belfort walks away with a smile on his face. Smorebrod gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Belfort shoots in looking for a takedown. Smorebrod tries to sprawl out of it but Belfort keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Smorebrod manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Belfort shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Smorebrod's guard.

Belfort shoots in and bounces Smorebrod off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
