Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Steve Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Van Decent (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Van Decent looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Steve Smith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Van Decent!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Daniel Bishop and Chris Edwards.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith is looking to clinch but Decent is avoiding it.
Smith shoots for a double leg takedown but Decent sprawls well. He's pushed Smith's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Decent will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Smith drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Smith wants to control from the top but Decent keeps moving.
Smith controls from within his opponent's guard.
Smith throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Decent works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Smith trying to stand up but can't free himself from Decent's guard.
Smith trying to control but Decent is working from the bottom.
Smith looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Smith is looking to work some ground and pound but Decent has wrist control.
Smith stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Decent swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Smith closes this distance looking for a takedown but Decent circles away.
No joy there for Decent, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Smith gets a takedown into half guard.
Decent looks gassed!
Smith takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Smith has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Smith is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Decent defends it well.
Smith throwing shots but Decent is blocking nicely.

Smith seems to be working for a kimura but Decent defends the submission attempt.

Smith in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Decent tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Smith!
