Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mort Shula (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Lie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lie has chosen we right here as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Ryoma Takatsuka and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lie misses with a combination
letting Shula counter with a right hand.
Lie throws a combination that misses
and Shula counters with a right hand to the body.
Lie swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Shula counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Lie falls off balance throwing a combination
and Shula counters by moving into the clinch.
Shula keeps control of Lie as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Shula prevents Lie from breaking the clinch.
Shula manages to break the clinch.
Lie tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Some wild striking there from Lie.
Shula was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Lie looks to land a combination but Shula avoids it well.
Shula avoids a punch combination nicely.

and Shula moves into the clinch.
Shula pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Lie closes the distance looking to clinch

and Shula counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Lie swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Shula connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Lie drops Shula with a beautiful combination! Shula stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Lie is looking for the KO!
It looks like Mort Shula has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Mike Lie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lie throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Shula counters with a straight right hand.
Lie closes the distance looking to clinch
and Shula counters with a big right hand! Oh Lie is in trouble here! Shula follows up with more strikes and that's it! The ref has stopped it!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mort Shula!
Mort Shula looked relieved post fight as he said the following; 'I want to thank everyone for the memories here in these cages around the world. I'm going to call it a day. I am going to call it a day because I don't have the heart to take time away from my family anymore. No more camps, no more fights, I will just be "Dad" now.'.
In defeat, Mike Lie stepped up to the mic, saying 'You know I came to fight for all of you guys and girls'.
