Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Joyner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Corey Anderson!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Eddie Farnsworth and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Joyner closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Anderson has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Joyner uses from the top position.
Joyner postures up in Anderson's guard and throws a big left but Anderson blocks it.
Joyner with a flurry of punches that miss.
Anderson wants to sweep but no luck.

Joyner trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Joyner wants to stand and escape but instead Anderson has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Joyner is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Anderson decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Joyner, up you get!

Anderson drives through and clinches with Joyner against the cage.
Joyner wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Anderson has him pressed against the cage.

Anderson goes for a takedown attempt but Joyner pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Joyner gets a takedown into half guard.

Joyner is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Joyner is working for a kimura but Anderson is defending it quite comfortably.

Joyner is thwarting Anderson's attempts to control the position.
Joyner has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, Anderson works to full guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Anderson avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Joyner has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Anderson is proving hard to escape from.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Joyner walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.


It looks like John Joyner has been cut.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Anderson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Joyner pinned against the cage. Joyner gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
John Joyner has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Corey Anderson.

Joyner shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Anderson's guard.
Joyner wants to get up but he can't break Anderson's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Joyner gets to his feet. Anderson looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Anderson scores with a one two! Joyner had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Anderson shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that John Joyner will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on John Joyner's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Joyner looks for a takedown but Anderson sprawls well.
Joyner seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Anderson shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Joyner is backing up but Anderson catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Joyner covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Anderson Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:16 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Corey Anderson!
In his post fight interview, Corey Anderson started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
